Securing Stable and Peaceful Societies in the Post-2015 Development Agenda

A statement in the Thematic Debate on peace and security chaired by John Ashe, President of the UN General Assembly. The nexus between stability and development is well-established, and the seriousness with which the UN is approaching peace-building is encouraging. Both security and stability derive from the implementation of development processes. Institutional accountability, inclusive processes, and true citizen-centered government must be key elements of the international agenda.
